Yesterday, May 22 2010, saw the arrival of a most unusual parade in Katonah. Groups of puppet wielding participants, each group representing a particular invasive species, boarded the train at different stops along it's journey from Grand Central Terminal to Katonah. At Katonah, they disembarked and began the parade. One hundred or so people from the community joined in behind them as they made their way around the village business district. Entire families joined in the parade; children, infants in strollers, parents and dogs. Many of them were decorated in the spirit of the parade. Invasive species represented include the Gypsy Moth, Starling, Zebra Mussel, and Norway Rat.
